Janie Hannagan gets sucked into other people's dreams. It's an ability she always kept secret—until she met Cabel, and found herself with the best (secret) boyfriend ever. But Janie and Cabel are about to find out just how dark Janie's future as a Dream Catcher is... and whether Cabel will be a part of it.
I had high expectations, but in all honesty, I really did not like this series. What I thought would be "lyrical" writing, felt more like a run-on sentence that stretched out over three books. To me, the third book was my least favorite. I thought the plot was pretty boring and I just couldn't connect with or feel compassion for the characters. The only thing that felt completely unique was the "Dream Catcher" concept, but I wish it was more thoroughly explored. I'm pretty sure that's what kept me reading. I wanted to know exactly what Janie's powers could fully do, but I feel like I never got that. I really wanted her Dream Catcher abilities to have had more attention instead of the side effects of it.
The Wake Trilogy as a whole just fell short for me, yet the main character's unique gift is what kept me reading.
