Book Haul (55)

My dad and I took a trip to Half Price Books this week and they had tons of awesome books! I got 4 hardcovers and a paperback for under $40!!
They're books that I've been wanting to buy for a while so it was p-e-r-f-e-c-t!!

-Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan
Everyone I've talked to loves this book! It was only $4!! I couldn't not buy it!

-Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson
I was planning on buying this one in the summer time since I've heard it's more of a summer read, but I didn't think I'd ever find it at such an awesome price and in really good condition again, so I got it!

-Bloodlines (Bloodlines 1) by Richelle Mead
I've heard amazing things about Mead's writing and have been eyeing Bloodlines for months so when I saw it at Half Price for only seven dollars, I jumped at it!

-The Golden Lily (Bloodlines 2) by Richelle Mead
Awesome price and I just bought the first one, it's fate I tell ya!

-Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine's 1) by Ransom Riggs (My Review)
I read this in December and fell completely in love with Riggs' writing and the characters. I originally borrowed it from my mom's awesome friend, so I couldn't resist picking up my own copy.

-Splintered by A.G. Howard
-Super awesome swag
Thank you SO much to Jasmine (A Room With Books) for this awesome book, letter and swag! Thank you!! :)

Max Update:

The past few days have been pretty difficult, especially on my dog Max. Early this we were told buy our previous vet that we would have to put him down, that he wouldn't make it until Spring and/or that he'd die within a few days.

We wanted actual answers so we went to a new vet. We were expecting him to say that Max would need to be put down, but were beyond thankful to here that the vet didn't know why Max would be able to get better! He just needed to stay at the hospital for a few days so they could fix all of his levels because it turns out he's diabetic.

Our little boy came home today! We are so happy! It's just not home without him! We need to go back to the vet again in two weeks, but for now Max gets to shots of insulin a day. The needle is so small he honestly doesn't even know I'm giving it to him! (I've only given him one, but he didn't even flinch! Such a good boy!)
We made a whole little 'Max's Meds Area' and a chart so we know if he got his meds that day.

The hardest part is that we can't give him treats and he only gets two meals a day. (We used to give him three smalls meals and a treat for behaving outside.) Honestly, from where we were on Thursday, it's amazing how far he's come!

Thank you guys for all your well-wishes on Twitter! Max says thank you too!

  8. So glad Max is feeling better! I have to give my dog pills and medicines all the time, too (though never shots), and it is so worth it for her to be healthy. Haven't read any of these books, but I really want to read Splintered (congrats on the win & the swag), Bloodlines, and Miss Peregrine's. Happy reading!
