ReplyDeleteHey Judith! Oh my goodness don't feel silly at all! Thank you for telling me, I accidentally took it out when I was editing the html for the post. It's up there now, thank you so much! :)
ReplyDeleteNo problem!
ReplyDeleteI was like "it's late maybe my vision is failing me!" haha
If I were to get a tattoo it would be of a small Strawberry. I would get it because my best friend's nickname is strawberry and she means the world to me. She has seen all sides of me and she never questions who I am. She's been with me through a lot and I would like a piece of her with me even when we are far apart.
I would get a tattoo of the infinity sign on my ankle. I just love unboundedness of it and the meaning of it. idk i have no idea of how to exactly explain it...
ReplyDelete-jennybelieves@gmail.com
It's probably cliché but I would like a pair of wings tattooed on my back. Not the angel kind but the bird kind or maybe a bird related tattoo to symbolize freedom/taking flight.
ReplyDeleteThere is SO MUCH I want to do with my life, wished I the guts to do, regretted what I didn't and the tattoo would sort of be a symbol of courage for me to stretch my wings.
Lynn @ celeste_fiore(at)live(dot)com

ReplyDeletesamantha_7030@hotmail.co.uk
I would have a kind of tribal looking lion, because as long as I can remember, that's what I've wanted. Only recently has it taken on bigger meaning, because now I'm also going to have a bible verse under it. The NIV version of Psalm 16:8, and the tattoo would be on my shoulder.
ReplyDeletemv.misty@yahoo.com
p.s. I also really like Reading Angel's tattoo. :)
Lyrics and quotes. Haven't gone over the specifics, but...yeah.
ReplyDeleteI haven't yet come across any visual stuff that has such significance to me that I'd tattoo myself.
Twitter: @cc9309 ~ I don't like posting my email anymore.
Probably a music note, like a quarter or eighteenth note. That way music is always with me
ReplyDeletethe(dot)zealous(dot)reader(at)gmail(dot)com
It would be a dragon at my neck. I just love dragons too much :D
ReplyDeletegiota22@msn.com

doodlesbookblog at gmail dot com
I really don't want a tattoo, but, putting that aside, I would get a 'Don't Panic' tattoo, because Douglas Adams is awesome and I could generally use that advice. Also, possible would be the number 42, except people would think I loved sports.
ReplyDeletecynicalsapphire at gmail dot com
I would definitely take a tattoo later! I want one word or a line with a lot of meaning to me. Something like 'believe in yourself' since I forget that all the time...
ReplyDelete& I'm too enthuasiastic.. my email is thedailyprophecy@hotmail.com :)

ReplyDeleteMy baby girls footprint when she was born, she was 3 months early and only weighed 2 lbs. it would remind me of the miracle she is now that she is 6 and getting mouthy lol. Thanks for the giveaway
ReplyDeleteBennest3@gmail.com
I actually do have a tattoo and it's *kind of* literary...I got it from a bookplate. It's a snake winding through flowers...sounds weird, but it's totally awesome! :) Thanks so much!

If I were to get a tattoo I would get it on my hip and it would either be a flower or a bird.

ReplyDelete"I am no bird; and no net ensnares me; I am a free human being, with an independent will.
I have always loved that quote.
sassysierra96(at)yahoo(dot)com
I would get a tattoo of Kermit the Frog. Remember the song IT'S NOT EASY BEING GREEN? The Kermit reference would remind me that we all need to take responsibility for the planet. Also, if you do have frogs around it means the immediate environment is fairly healthy.
ReplyDeletemarypres(AT)gmail(DOT)com

I've actually been planning this one for a while (I already have two tattoos). Just have to save up the money to get it. It will be some type of book, either open or closed, and the words "I Read Forever" will be inscribed on the book. That's a quote from John Adams.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
truebookaddictATgmailDOTcom
If I got a tattoo it would probably be related to literature in some way. Books maybe or writing utensils. LOVE WRITING AND READING. Or maybe and inspirational quote. Or maybe I'd go simple with just a basic heart or flower.

ReplyDeletebridget.howard@hotmail.com

ReplyDeleteThebooklass(at)gmaildotcom
If I were to get a tattoo (which I may actually get in the future) I would get a super cool looking dragon and maybe even the character for dragon in Chinese. Anywhere on my body would be fine, but I would prefer it to be where it would hurt the least because I'm a total wimp. The significance of this (I feel like I'm answering my homework questions)is that my last name means dragon in Chinese and I thought it might look kind of cool.
ReplyDeletelongmichelle15 {AT} gmail {DOT} com

I've been thinking of getting a Mockingjay tattoo in my back. Just like Katniss, I think I found the mockingjay really symbolic - and for me it really represents braveness. I even drew it in my notebook and have it as a desktop wallpaper ;)
ReplyDeleteNow I forgot my email daesungie@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI want to have the Eye of Horus. I'm not sure where but I'm in love with everything that has to do with Egypt so yeah...

This is such a great challenge!
ReplyDeleteI'd get a tattoo of a heart with an old-fashioned pen hovering right above it, a few drops of ink still falling.
But it wouldn't be just any heart - instead of being colored in red, it would be made up of my favorite quotes from books going round and round to fill in the heart. Some quotes I'd definitely include are: "Remember how it was when we kissed? Armfuls and armfuls of light thrown right at us. A rope dropping down from the sky. How can the word love and the word life even fit in the mouth?” (From The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson) "I know you aren't perfect. But it's a person's imperfections that make them perfect for someone else.” (Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins) and "Is it possible for home to be a person and not a place?” (from Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins.)
The great thing about this heart tattoo is that I'd start from the core, with these quotes I just mentioned forming a tiny heart, and the more I'd read and grow and experience and love, the more quotes I'd add from books that capture what's meaningful to me, what's true, what has resonated. By being able to add to this heart I'd always be able to remind myself that we're always growing and learning and changing and loving. That we're always writing and rewriting our lives - which is why I'd have a pen above the heart with ink drops dripping.
And by having this tattoo somewhere I'd be able to see, like the inside of my forearm, I'd be able to remind myself of what's important, of what's meaningful. I'd always be able to look down and find hope. And I'd always have parts of my favorite books with me, the books and characters that made me feel and touched me.
I think our hearts and our lives are our personal books. We're always adding to them. They hold everyone and everything we love. And they pick us up when we fall.
What's really cool is that the heart would also be like a map of my life, and when I'm really old I'd be able to trace my journey.
That's my tattoo!
Great question:)
ccfioriole at gmail dot com
Ahh this is a superb question! I've thought about this for a long time...and I dont know if I'm going to get a tattoo or not but if I were, I'd tattoo the word "Hope" with one (or more) feathers around it. It's from Emily Dickinson's poem and the line where it says "Hope is a thing with feathers". :D
ReplyDeletejusteena_25 at yahoo dot ca
I've always wanted a tattoo, maybe on my wrist, that says "What Does Not Destroy Me Makes Me Stronger" (and not because of the song!), because I love and live by that quote :)
ReplyDeletekim3317 at hotmail dot com
I have a few tattoos already, my next one will be upon completing my MLIS, and it'll be an open book on the inside of my foot/ankle area. :)
ReplyDeletejerbearshares at gmail dot com
i love owls so much so i think i would put a really cool creepy cartoon own on my right shoulder blade. It would have to be in color with a yellow creepy full moon in the background, and the owl sitting on a tree branch just staring at you.
ReplyDeleteIf I was to get a tattoo it would be of a crossbones to match Bones' from the Night Huntress series. It'd be to signify that HE'S MINE! :)
ReplyDeleteGabbie-ethela(at)hotmail(dot)com
I don't think I'd ever get a real tattoo, because I probably have the lowest pain threshold in history, but if they somehow created a way to give painless tattoos, I'd probably get a small and intricate bird in the small of my back because or maybe something more simple like the infinity symbol on my ankle. Birds and the infinity symbol don't really have any particular significance to me per se, but I think they would look very pretty as a tattoo.
ReplyDeleterachchan2006@yahoo.com.au
I have actually already had myself tattooed. I have my mothers birth month flower. I got in soon after she passed away in memory of her.
ReplyDeletedrinkshrunkentears at gmail dot com
I'd want one someplace I could see it all the time. Maybe on my feet? That way I could cover it up when I'm trying to seem professional. And vibrant colours. Something meaningful. This is why I don't have one - because I'm too indecisive to pick anything permanently.
ReplyDeleteBut I'd love a dragon somewhere. An adorable little one...
kashtastic@gmail.com
It would be permanent. It would be a Japanese Maple Tree on my back with a little asian girl reading underneath. The tree symbolizes the tree in my ancestral home backyard. The little girl is me and i like to read. Its also a symbol of an organization I work with called The Giving Tree, which gives books to children with educational needs. Thanks for the challenge!
ReplyDeletemoonlit(dot)dancinginrain(at)gmail(dot)com
I like angel wing tattoo but most people have that. So in order to have the different one, I'd love a single feather on my right shoulder blade.

As the only one in my family without a tattoo this topic often comes up- I'd get the quote "But I have promises to keep/ And miles to go before I sleep" from Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost on the inside arches of my feet. I love the sentiment and it's a promise to myself to keep going. The reason I haven't is because I know it will hurt like the dickens to get a tattoo there. kcarlson1152[at]hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteit would be a dragonfly on my shoulderblade ^^ because it's kind of my nickname since i am born.
ReplyDeletewitchvela at web dot de
I have one tattoo with extreme significance to me, but if I were to get another, it would be a Zuni fetish-style bear with a spirit line.
ReplyDeleteThe best times of my life has been when I'm getting to spend time with my family, when we travel and explore and nobody is fighting. That happened mostly when I was a pre-teen, and my parents took us all over the Southwest. I fell in love with Zuni fetish carvings, and my parents encouraged me to collect these artistic spiritual pieces. My collection is large and very special to me, but beyond the art of the carving and the stone, the bear represents family and maternal connection, and my Zuni fetish carvings will always represent my relationship with my family and our amazing love and mutual support.

If I were to get a tattoo I would get a raven on my shoulder blade. When my mom was giving birth to me a raven flew into the window of her hospital room. I think it was a sign of some sort :)
ReplyDeletejspec92 @ gmail . com
I would get a butterfly. A blue one. It seems like whenever I am having a bad day and I am thinking of my mom I see one and it reminds me of her. I think she is watching over me and that is her way of letting me know. Gale pgan427@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteMy initials spell "bad", so I've always wanted to get them as a tattoo. I want the b and d to be lower case letter, and the A upper case so it's symmetrical (bAd).
ReplyDeleteThanks!

Well this is the perfect challenge for me because I LOVE tattoos and actually have quite a few. I hope it's ok to use one of my real tattoos as my answer. Back in 2007 my grandmother became very ill and was hospitalized. My grandfather was by her side every day. One day he was holding her hand and my uncle took a picture of their hands together. It is the most beautiful picture I have ever seen. Unfortunately, they both died that same year. Years before I had gotten their initials tattooed on one of my shoulders and was a little upset that the man had made it a little too low. But then my husband drew out the picture of their hands and I had that tattooed in the space above. It was like the initials were low for a reason. This will always be my favorite tattoo :)
ReplyDeletejaidahsmommy(at)comcast(dot)net
I think in December on Husband's and my anniversary I'll get an outline of a heart on the inside of my wrist with a J in the center since both our names start with a J. :]

I've always wanted to get a tattoo, I've gotten as far as creating a whole inspiration board of awesome tattoo's on pinterest but I know I'm super fickle and will instantly start to regret my choice as soon as I get it done. BUT ONE DAY I WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!
ReplyDeleteRight now, my favourite idea is a key on my chest... so it looks a bit like a necklace. I've been inspired ever since reading Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen and I think it represents so much more than just the image as is.

My nickname is 'phoenix', since bad things happened to me and I really, really had to fight to 'see the light at the end of the tunnel'. My friends always say that I was born twice from my own ashes, so it would be the perfect tattoo for me.

ReplyDeletelaceyblossom@yahoo.com
Part of the reason that I'd never get a permanent tattoo is that I can't think of anything special enough. So I'd go with a temporary butteryfly because they're pretty :)
ReplyDeletejessicamariesutton(at)msn(dot)com
Well I already have two tattoos, but they don't really have meanings for me. I just like them. One is an owl and a compass on the back of my right shoulder and the other is an ampersand on the inside of my left wrist. I do plan on getting another tattoo with my mom and I'm thinking I want it to be a dreamcatcher on the front of my ankle and the feathers hanging down on my foot, just because I've wanted it for a while and it seems right....As for a fake tattoo? I'd totally get Johnny Depp's face anywhere on my body. Yummm. ;) Lol!

I've always wanted to get a tattoo, particularly a tribal along my lower back. However, if I were to get a meaningful tattoo, I would want one like a Celtic Knot with each of my children's names weaved intricately into the design. I can't think of anything more meaningful than being a mom and being Irish/Scottish, the Celtic Knot is something that has personal meaning to myself as a person.
