Fifteen in 15

I found this meme on Shelly's Book ShelfLink and thought it would be interesting to relfect on some of the books that have stuck with me throughout the years; that left the biggest impact. These are listed in no particular order. So here are the rules...
This can be a quick one. Don't take too long to think about it. Fifteen books you've read that will always stick with you. First fifteen you can recall in no more than 15 minutes.

1) Leaving Paradise by Simone Elkeles

2) Can't Get There From Here by Todd Strasser

3) Twilight by Stephanie Meyer

4) Hold Still by Nina LaCour

5) Willow by Julia Hoban

6) When It Happens By Susane Colasanti

7) Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles

8) Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer

9) Hush,Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

10) Lock & Key by Sarah Dessen

11) The Wave by Todd Strasser

12) New Moon by Stephanie Meyer

13) Dear John by Nicholas Sparks

14) Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer

15) Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo

The book that had the most impact on me was Perfect Chemistry due to the message that Elkeles puts into this amazing story of two completely different people crossing paths with one another. It's amazing how much of a facade people can put on just to protect themselves from the outside world, never really letting anyone in, which is something I can really relate to. I don't want to say too much because it will give away the amazing ending. I'll talk more about my opinions in my review coming Friday. It just needs some final touch ups then it will be posted. That way I'll actually have a review making this a definite YA review blog. :)

Film Quiz

I couldn't find a fun book related meme for Thursday, however I did find this Film Quiz from Not In The Pink. I don't plan on doing a quiz meme every Thursday, maybe occasionally if it's book related.

- Name a film that you have seen more than 10 times.
10 Things I Hate About You
- Name a film that you’ve seen multiple times in the cinema.

Shutter Island
- Ever walked out of a film?
Not that I remember.

Dear John, eventhough it was nothing like the book at all, the scene with John and his dad in the hospital made me weep a little.
- How often do you go to the cinema (as opposed to renting them or watching them at home)?
It really depends on what movies come out, sometimes a ton of movies I want to see come out all at once, like lately for example, so I've been there quite a bit.
- What’s the last film you saw in the cinema?
The Runaways
- What’s your favourite/preferred genre of film?

Pochohatas was the first, but I don't remember being there since I was little
- What film do you wish you had never seen?
Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant

- What is the scariest film you’ve seen?
I don't really go for scary movies because I scare easily and don't like being scared so I avoid them, but Quarentine was suppose to be a scary movie, but I found it funny more than anything.

Teaser Tuesday

tI found this awesome meme hosted by Should Be Reading that I'll post every Tuesday. So here's what you do...
-Grab your current read
-Let the book fall open to a random page
-Share 2 “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
-You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!

This "teaser" is from Perfect Chemisty by Simone Elkeles

When I spot Alex leaning on his motorcycle
waiting for me in the parking lot, my pulse skips a beat.
Oh, boy. I'm in trouble.

I love this book! I literally can't put it down. I'll have the review up soon and so far I have only good things to say about it!

Exciting Releases Coming Out in 2010

Rules of Attraction
Sequel to Perfect Chemistry
Simone Elkeles

When Carlos Fuentes returns to America after living in Mexico for a year, he doesn’t want any part of the life his older brother, Alex, has laid out for him at a high school in Colorado . Carlos likes living his life on the edge and wants to carve his own path—just like Alex did. Then he meets Kiara Westford. She doesn’t talk much and is completely intimidated by Carlos’ wild ways. As they get to know one another, Carlos assumes Kiara thinks she’s too good for him, and refuses to admit that she might be getting to him. But he soon realizes that being himself is exactly what Kiara needs right now.
I'm about to start Perfect Chemistry, but I always get excited to hear that there is a sequel coming out to any book, especially when it's from Simone Elkeles. I loved her writing in Leaving Paradise so I can't wait to read Perfect Chemistry and soon Rules of Attraction which comes out April 15.

Cresendo
Sequel to Hush, Hush
Becca Fitzpatrick

Nora should have known her life was far from perfect. Despite starting a relationship with her guardian angel, Patch (who, title aside, can be described as anything but angelic), and surviving an attempt on her life, things are not looking up. Patch is starting to pull away and Nora can't figure out if it's for her best interest or if his interest has shifted to her arch-enemy, Marcie Millar. Not to mention that Nora is haunted by images of her father and she becomes obsessed with finding out what really happened to him that night he left for Portland and never came home. The further Nora delves into the mystery of her father's death, the more she comes to question if her Nephilim bloodline has something to do with it as well as why she seems to be in danger more than the average girl. Since Patch isn't answering her questions and seems to be standing in her way, she has to start finding the answers on her own. Relying too heavily on the fact that she has a guardian angel puts Nora at risk again and again. But can she really count on Patch or is he hiding secrets darker than she can even imagine?
Hush, Hush was by far one of my favorite books I've read in quite sometime and I didn't think that Becca was going to come out with a second. When I heard this news I literally jumped for joy! I cannot wait until November 16 to get my hands on this book and read more about Nora's passionate relationship with Patch.

Torment
Sequel to Fallen
Lauren Kate

First I just want to say I absolutely LOVE the cover of this book! I think, even though I can't believe it's possible, that I love it more than the cover of Fallen. The first book in this series, Fallen, I really enjoyed because I could connect to the character, I'll have a review out of that shortly...
Anyway, I couldn't find a summary for Torment, but I did discover that it comes out September 28. So we'll all just have to wait until summer's over than will be able to continue the story where Fallen left off.

Dark Flame
Immortals Series
Alyson Noel

At the start of this mesmerizing new installment of the Immortals series, Ever is helping her friend Haven transition into life as an immortal. But with Haven drunk on her new powers and carelessly putting them all at risk, their friendship becomes more and more strained. At the same time, Ever delves deeper into magick in order to get control over her enemy Roman and free Damen from his power. But when the spell she casts on Roman backfires, she’s bound to her deadliest enemy. Frantic to reverse the spell the moment the moon enters a new phase, she finds her efforts are fruitless—there’s a strange, foreign pulse coursing through her, one that propels her toward Roman. Desperate to break free of this terrible curse before Damen or the twins can discover what she’s done, she turns to Jude and delves deeper and deeper into dark magick, ultimately risking everything she knows and loves—including Damen.
I've read all the books in the series that are out now and adore them. I'll go further into my opinions of the books in the reviews. This will be out June 22 and I can't wait!!

Return to Paradise
Sequel to Leaving Paradise
Simone Elkeles

Leaving Paradise was just amazing so when I heard about a sequel I went CRAZY! I'm so stoked to find out what will happen between Caleb and Maggie. I loved the double narration in the book. My review will be coming soon and you should definitely expect to hear nothing but great things about it! I'm pretty certain that the title will be Return To Paradise, it has been called that on numerous other sites, but the title is still not confirmed on Simone's official site, it just says Sequel to Leaving Paradise coming November 2010. The summary is not out yet so that's something we can look forward to hopefully in the near future!

First Post

I'm a complete Book Worm and decided to make a blog reviewing books that I have recently read or will read. I'm still getting used to all the html stuff so my blog is not in the best of shape, but I'll get there eventually. I'll be working on reviews for books right away and post them soon. If you have any advice please feel free to leave a comment, thanks for stopping by.
