Friday's Finest (16)

Friday's Finest is hosted by the sweet Justine and Steff from a bookful of thoughts

"Guilt reminds me of a stray cat.
You chase it away and yet,
it comes back when you least expect it.
If you let yourself feel pity for it and feed the thing,
it parks its ugly,
lonely-for-attention butt on your doormat
and won't go away.
Scat kitty cat, scat.
I don't need you sitting around here like that."

Lisa Schroeder

You guys probably already know, but I absolutely love any type of simile or metaphor. Especially ones that deal with feelings. I completely adore this quote, it's definitely my favorite out of I Heart You, You Haunt Me. I feel like guilt can be replaced with a number of emotions and still apply.

    Really nice quote.

  2. So true! I definitely need to read something by Lisa Schroeder.

  6. Metaphors/similes/analogies are the best! This one about guilt can be so true. Thanks for sharing, Katie! :)
